Healing Migraines with Acupuncture
Clinically I have found that when a person experiences the symptom of headache or migraine it is created from a under lying cause. That cause creates a vascular blood spasm, or a tension that stimulates a muscle contraction in the neck, jaw, or head.
Any acute or chronic stress can cause increased levels of cortisol the “flight or fight hormone”. This hormone in excess levels can break down body function and create inflamation including pain in the body. Some causes of stress to the body are mental and emotional upset, poor diet, allergies, infections, lack of sleep, low estrogen, toxicity, dental work, injuries, surgeries, medicines.
We take a comprehensive look at the patients cause of stress and how it is effecting there body. This is key to determining what style of acupuncture treatment would best help there body recover from a headache or migraine.
With this individualized approach the results of pain relief are increased dramatically.
